How God’s Victory Can Manifest Through Our Service to Others: A Biblical Perspective

In our daily walk as Christians, it is easy to become focused solely on our personal goals, victories, and struggles. However, the Bible reminds us that victory, as provided by God, is not always for us alone—it can also come through the lives of others. This concept is deeply embedded in God’s Word, reminding us of a profound Biblical principle: God gives victory to those who seek to serve Him, and sometimes that victory is achieved through the service of others.

The Biblical Foundation of Victory Through Service

The story of the children of Israel, as seen in Joshua 18:1-4, offers us a beautiful picture of how God’s victory is not always about one individual but can often involve the community's collective effort. As we read in Joshua 18:1-4:

“And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you? Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.”

In this passage, Joshua encourages the Israelites to move forward and claim the land God had promised them. Although some tribes had already received their inheritance, seven tribes had not. Through the help and action of others, these remaining tribes could receive their inheritance, further underscoring that God’s victories are often achieved with the help of those around us.
